The History

I painted my first team in March 2009, when I decided to buy a blank Subbuteo team to paint in the colours of Liverpool for my brother-in-law. I enjoyed painting that team and decided to sell a couple more teams on eBay. After receiving some good feedback on the items I decided to paint more teams and eventually produced this website in order to sell them on a larger scale.

I am now painting for people all round the world from America, Australia, Greece, Italy and more. For casual collectors, competitive Subbuteo players and even companies such as ESPN & The Homes of Football.

The Technique

ShootFirst use 'Da Vinci' Kolinsky Marder paint brushes - sizes 2 (for base coats) to 00000 (for ultra fine detail) and Games Workshop paints which have a matt finish.

The boxes are designed on InDesign and printed onto 300gsm paper (coated for the lid, uncoated for the base).
We use SuperFooty players and bases.

What a fantastic product! Shoot First not only provided us with retro and high quality figures, but an excellent customer service experience. The figures were sent to 20 very happy sport journalists who all passed on their thanks and recommendations.
Cheers guys!

Big hint for any non-football fans who happen to be reading this – getting your loved one immortalised as a Subbuteo figurine would be a flicking great present.
